roosters interior“A cozy bistro that feels oddly European and Southern…the best dishes are exquisitely simple.” – Southern Living Magazine
When Southern Living describes a local restaurant like that, you know it has to make our Best of Charlotte list. And for good reason. A real farm-to-table restaurant, Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen serves high-quality Southern cuisine with Spanish, French and Italian influences.
The idea for Rooster’s began in 2004 when Chef Jim Noble “wanted somewhere we (chefs) could go eat, not just for special occasions, but a couple times a week. There was a great shortage of restaurants with the quality ingredients and careful attention of fine dining but with a more relaxed setting and approachable menu.”
Rooster seafoodRooster’s has a strong belief in the community and works through an established network of small farmers, fish mongers and other local artisans to bring beautifully crafted meals to the Charlotte area with simple, honest approaches to cooking. You will be drawn to the sight and scent of the wood-fired oven, rotisserie, and grill as the Chef and team prepares food in portions to be shared or eaten alone.
In addition, the wine program at Roosters takes its inspiration from their menu. It is European at its core but is full of other influences, from California to North Carolina and all over the world. Great care goes into choosing wines that will both compliment their food and offer guests the unique experience of some of their exclusive allocations and rare vintages.
You can visit Rooster’s in either of its 2 locations in Charlotte: 6601 Morrison Blvd in SouthPark or their uptown location – 150 N College Street. I know you’re hungry just thinking about it. If you haven’t tried Rooster’s out, go. You won’t be sorry.
