Downtown Concord is one of Cabarrus County’s finest locations to experience all that a historic downtown has to offer. This friendly and quaint town has a history that is over 200 years old and luckily, because of such organizations such as the Concord Downtown Development Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Concord and the Historic Preservation Commission, its homes and shopping district have remained intact and are bustling.
The Concord Historic District is located within a two block radius and within that area visitors and/or residents can find two performing arts theatres, two art galleries, a museum, a public library, a French chocolate shop, a pottery studio, a university, a botanical garden and a greenway. Not to mention the many unique shops, restaurants, fitness studios and churches. There is something for everyone to enjoy!
Throughout the year, people of all ages flock to the city to experience various “hometown” activities such as its monthly “Small Business Saturday”, a monthly Art Walk, Union Street Live (free summer concerts held on the 3rd Thursday of each month) and a Spring Arts Festival (May 5, 2015).
Located just a short drive from Charlotte, NC on 85 North, Downtown Concord is certainly something to experience and who knows… you may just want to live there!
