The NC Music Factory is a fabulous destination for many in and around Charlotte, or even just visiting Charlotte. There is plenty to see, do, eat and drink at the various establishments that make up this former textile mill that is now the “NC Music Factory” complex. Here is a quick rundown of all of the establishments at this location:
The Fillmore: This is an incredible venue for live shows. The staff at The Fillmore works very hard to bring in some well known acts. An added bonus, there are some great places around the area to party and hang out both before, and after, the shows. (Capacity: 2,000)
Small Bar: This is a great, casual, “small” bar with plenty of outdoor seating and inexpensive drinks.
VBGB: This is a fun, relaxed hangout that has plenty of activities including a sand volleyball court, oversized games such as Jenga and Connect 4, corn hole boards, tons of TVs, delicious food and loads of beer choices. (VBGB has 30 beers on tap!)
Comedy Zone: This is a great option for date night or night out with friends. The Comedy Zone brings in a good variety of comics, even some big names such as Jim Gaffigan, Kevin Hart and more. Check their online calendar to see who is coming to Charlotte soon.
Matties Diner: This is a tremendous little diner across the street. The people here are friendly, just be careful not to look the chef in the eye – you may regret it! Breakfast, fries covered in gravy, a laundry list of milkshakes… what’s not to love here?
Label: This is one of the prettiest clubs (interior/decor wise) in all of Charlotte. Label does a good job of bringing in some big name djs and has plenty of spinning tunes for those who wish to light up the dance floor.
Texi-Cali Taco & Tequila Bar: Just like the name says – tex-mex food mixed with tequila laced drinks. All of the above makes for a fun night out!
Eight Sushi and Asian Kitchen: Fresh sushi, using fresh local ingredients as much as possible. It is great that the NC Music Factory now has a sushi option!
Oggi Ristorante Italiano: This is a new location for this restaurant which offers an extensive wine list and authentic Italian food to have while on an intimate date, business luncheon or large family grouping.
Fountain Plaza: FREE concerts are held here on Fridays during the summer, with all proceeds benefiting the Greater Charlotte SPCA. (Capacity: 5,000)
Uptown Amphitheatre: This venue is a great outdoor music venue with an intimate feel. (Capacity: 2,000)
Bootlegger’s Saloon and Dance Hall: This is a new bar that offers plenty of your favorite country tunes, plus some great local and national acts. Add in some line dancing and you have yourself a fun party!
Wet Willies: A drinking establishment that specializes in slushie type drinks.
If you have not been to the NC Music Factory, you should rethink that! Offering something for everyone with a wide variety of art, music, entertainment and dining options, it should not be missed.
