It happens every year… during the last few weeks of school. Children come home with all of their “leftover” (or unused) school supplies. Invariably there are notebooks, folders, a few pencils that do not have erasers, and crayons. LOTS of crayons. If your house is like ours, you can only use, maybe, about 30 crayons, not the 50 – 100 that have accumulated over the years. Well, A.C. Moore has a solution!
All summer long, A.C. Moore will be accepting used and unwanted crayons. They are teaming up with The Crayon Initiative, a fabulous organization that takes these crayons, melts them down, and turns them into new crayons for children in hospitals and schools all across the U.S. This recycling program not only brightens patients or students day, but the program also helps reduce the waxy sludge that is left behind when crayons are deposited in the trash and in landfills. It truly is a win, win!
If you would like to participate, it is simple! Now through August 2, bring your unwanted crayons into A.C. Moore and for every pound donated, A.C. Moore will donate $1 to The Crayon Initiative (up to $40,000).
If your school or restaurant would like to become involved, just head on over to The Crayon Initiative’s website to see how you can become more involved!
