Happy Palm Sunday, everyone! Today marks the celebration of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, an event filled with hope and jubilation, shared with crowds gathering for Passover. It’s a moment that reminds us of freedom – the same freedom the people of Israel celebrated after their release from slavery in Egypt. Yet, the irony lies in their struggle to leave their “Egypt” behind, showcasing a profound lesson about true liberation.

In a twist of fate, the same people who hailed Jesus with palm branches would, days later, call for his crucifixion. This dramatic shift poses a reflective question: In the face of shifting tides, where does our allegiance lie? It reminds us of the importance of knowing who guides us. Without a true leader like Jesus, it’s all too easy to be swayed by the crowd.

As we enter Holy Week, let it be an invitation to deepen our understanding and relationship with Jesus. Let’s embrace this time to ensure that when we celebrate the resurrection, it’s with a full, unwavering heart.
Never heard that expression, but it us right. They got out of Egypt, but they never got Egypt out of them.
