Welcome back, friends, to #MyKitchenMyRules! Are you ready? Next week starts the National Biscuit and Gravy Week – a national holiday for Southerners! So gather round because I’ve got a story to tell! In my first attempt at making my homemade Southern Buttermilk Biscuits, they came out FLATTER than a pancake. But never fear, stick to the very end to watch my second attempt with a few tweaks from my Aunt Sally. I think I’ve got this “foolproof” recipe down pat. Well, as pat as these biscuits are going to get!
Watch me chop butter, stir buttermilk, and, with any luck, produce biscuits that rise higher than the Sunday hat on Mrs. Johnson from down the road! But I guarantee we’ll end up with biscuits worth lickin’ your fingers over. Now, who’s ready to bake?
