Festivals in the area are in full swing and one of the next up is South Carolina’s Strawberry Festival in Fort Mill, SC. Known as Fort Mill’s salute to spring, this year’s festival is being held May 2-3, 2014. This family friendly event is filled with fun activities such as the Strawberry Festival pageant, eating contests, pig races, a car show and more.
Be sure to enjoy festival classics like the Strawberry Festival Golf Tournament on Tuesday, April 29th at the Springfield Golf Club (9:30 am) and the much-anticipated festival combo of food, crafts, and entertainment on Friday, May 2nd (4 pm -11 pm) and Saturday, May 3rd (9 am – 10 pm) at Walter Y. Elisha Park. There’s much for the family to do including the Kids Zone featuring inflatables, pig runs, contests, rides, and more. Ride tickets are $1 per ticket with each ride requiring 1-4 tickets. Friday evening is Kids Night, when your child can enjoy unlimited rides for $15. Also during the weekend are Meet & Greet events with the newly crowned 2014 Strawberry Festival Queens and The Strawberry Jam, featuring two stages of free outdoor concerts.
And don’t miss the Strawberry Pick-n-Flick. The Strawberry Pick-n-Flick is Thursday, May 1st (6 pm – 10 pm) at Springs Farm, located on Springfield Parkway across from Nation Ford High School. Come out to this family-friendly event for hayrides, food and desserts. Stick around for a free movie viewing at dusk. For a special discounted price, you can pick-your-own strawberries during the event as well.
Conveniently located 15 miles south of Charlotte and an hour north of Columbia, the South Carolina Strawberry Festival is a regional celebration of all things strawberry!
Established in 2010, the South Carolina Strawberry Festival has been honored twice as South Carolina’s Event of the Year. Last year’s event had more than 50,000 individuals attend from throughout the region and state. Come on out for a Berry good time!
