If you are looking for challenging and scenic, but fun races to participate in this fall, then you need to look no further than our very own city! The annual Thunder Road marathon, ½ marathon and 5k (sponsored by Novant Health) take place each year during the month of November. This year’s races are scheduled for Saturday, November 15. The races are all certified and the marathon is a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon.
Thunder Road is a unique course that takes its participants through many Charlotte neighborhoods, up hills and down hills, and starting and finishing in the heart of Uptown. It brings together our town’s rich stock car racing heritage with our love of music and family-friendly participation. It is an event not to be missed!
Registrations for the 2014 event are being accepted now. Mailed entries must be post-marked by Friday, November 7 and ONLINE registration for the 2014 event closes on Sunday, November 9 at midnight. So, don’t delay! Register today: www.runcharlotte.com/register/
