“Best place for seafood? That’s easy – The Capital Grille! Their Calamari is the best I’ve ever had, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!”

That’s what Wanda Holsclaw, Real Estate Broker with the Leigh Brown & Associates team, thinks about The Capital Grille. Originally from Virginia, Wanda moved to the Charlotte area in 1994 with her husband Bill and (now college-aged) son, Noah. They also have an adorable rescue dog named Chili that keeps her busy! She loves to help show her clients what Charlotte has to offer and she always recommends Calamari from Capital Grille!

The Capital Grille’s goal is that of “comfortable elegance”. With their art-deco chandeliers and African mahogany paneling – you’re sure to feel like you’re walking into a warm, sophisticated estate room. Combined with their gracious and attentive staff, they have created a relaxing yet elegant dining atmosphere that is second to none. Matching their high-class atmosphere, is a robust world-class wine collection to perfectly pair with their delectable dishes. Their menu philosophy? At The Capital Grille it is simple: exceptional ingredients, artfully prepared. Their balsamic vinegar is aged more than 15 years, but their mozzarella is less than 90 minutes old – talk about perfection! Every one of their recipes are designed to engage all of your senses, and they strive to ensure that every single bite delights you.

If you’ve ever been to The Capital Grille before, you’ll know that they’re famous for their delicious steaks. But what makes their steaks different? It’s a little culinary secret called “dry aging”. Before any of their steaks touch the grill, they are dry-aged for almost 3 weeks. This process is intense, but ensures incomparable flavor and texture. After this process is complete, the in-house butcher hand carves every cut of steak to perfection. Is your mouth watering now?!

While you’re sure to experience taste and atmosphere like no other – it doesn’t come without a price. Serving both lunch and dinner, their menu is extensive! For lunch you can delight in an array of burgers and sandwiches for around $20, or if you’re looking for lighter fare they’ve got a delicious selection of salads – ranging from about $15 – $20. Their lunch portions of steak are right around the $30 range. Their dinner menu is much simpler, with a handful of carefully crafted entrees and an assortment of steak and seafood medleys. Each dinner entree is going to put you in the $40-$50 range, with their combination seafood/steak entrees falling a bit higher.

While this may not be the ideal locale for a family night out, Valentine’s Day is here and a deliciously elegant dinner at The Capital Grille is sure to score you some brownie points with your spouse!
